Firefighters quickly put out structure fire at abandoned building in DHS

Firefighters quickly put out structure fire in an abandoned building in Desert Hot Springs.

The fire was first reported at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday night in the area of Whipple Road & Mihalyo Road, a dirt road near the I-10.

There have been fires reported in this location in the past, specifically around this time last year.

The first arriving company officer reported an abandoned cinder block building fully involved in fire. The fire was contained about an hour later.

There were no injuries reported.
