Palm Springs International Film Festival honorees win big at Golden Globes

Multiple honorees at this year's Palm Springs International Film Festival were big winners at the Golden Globes on Tuesday.

Austin Butler

Austin Butler won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Drama for his performance as Elvis Presley in "Elvis."

Butler received the Breakthrough Performance Award for the same performance.

News Channel 3's Patrick Evans and Angela Chen spoke with Butler and "Elvis" director Baz Luhrmann about the film. Butler hinting at a future Elvis vs Frank Sinatra battle with Patrick.

Butler also spoke more about the role with News Channel 3's Jennifer Franco during the Variety Brunch at the Parker in Palm Springs.

Michelle Yeoh

Michelle Yeoh won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for "Everything Everywhere All at Once."

Her costar in the movie Ke Huy Quan also took home the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor, Motion Picture, for his role in the film.

She was honored at the Palm Springs International Film Awards for her performance, receiving the International Star Award, Actress.

Steven Spielberg & "The Fabelmans"

The legendary Steven Spielberg won the Golden Globe for Best Director, Motion Picture for the film "The Fabelmans."

The film also won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, Drama.

"The Fabelmans" was the recipient of the Vanguard Award at the Palm Springs International Film Awards last week. The Vanguard Award is a group honor distinguishing a film's cast and director in recognition of their collective work on an exceptional film project.

The award was presented to Spielberg and cast members Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Gabriel LaBelle and Judd Hirsch.

News Channel 3 spoke to many of the stars, including Spielberg. We also learned one of the younger stars of the film, Keeley Karsten, recently moved out to Palm Springs! Check out those interviews below:

Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell won the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy, for "The Banshees of Inisherin."

The film also won the Golden Globe for Best Picture, Musical or Comedy and Best Screenplay, Motion Picture.

He was honored the role last week during the Palm Springs International Film Awards gala, receiving the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actor.

Farrell spoke with News Channel 3 at the awards gala red carpet. He even made a little time for the fans in attendance!

Cate Blanchett

Cate Blanchett won the Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama, for "Tár."

She received the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress at the Palm Springs International Film Awards for the role.

Angela Bassett

Angela Bassett won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, Motion Picture for her role in "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever."

She received the Creative Impact in Acting Award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival during Variety's annual 10 Directors to Watch brunch at the Parker in Palm Springs.
