Official: Text Messages, Fingerprints Link Suspect To Third Case
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – A law enforcement official says text messages and fingerprints link a medical student accused of killing a masseuse in Boston to a Rhode Island hotel where there was an attempted robbery.
The official tells The Associated Press that Philip Markoff’s fingerprints were found on a wall at a Holiday Inn Express where a stripper claims she was tied up and held at gunpoint until her husband returned to the room. She says she met her attacker through Craigslist.
The official also says Markoff sent text messages from the hotel.
The Boston University medical student is charged in the killing of Julissa Brisman, who police say he met through Craigslist.
Brisman’s mother says the way her daughter died will haunt her the rest of her life.
Markoff is also charged in the robbery of another masseuse police say he met on the site.
Markoff has pleaded not guilty. He’s on suicide watch at a Boston jail after police reportedly found shoelace marks on his neck. His attorney and parents visited him today.
