Tylenol Arthritis Recalled
PALM SPRINGS- All Tylenol Arthritis Pain Caplets 100 count bottles with the EZ Open Cap are being recalled. The bottles can be identified by a distinctive red “EZ-OPEN CAP,” according to the company.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, consumers reported an unusual moldy, musty or mildew-like odor in five lots of the product in November.
The consumers reported temporary nausea, stomach pain, vomiting and diarrhea, said the FDA.
The company stated that the uncharacteristic smell is caused by the presence of trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole. The source of this chemical is believed to be the breakdown ofa chemical used to treat wooden pallets thattransport and store packaging materials. The health effects of this compound have not been well studied.
