Swarm Of Earthquakes Hits Banning Area

BANNING – A 4.3 magnitude earthquake hit Banning, Monday night at 6:36pm. It was preceded by two earthquakes measuring more than 3 in magnitude hit the Inland Empire, that afternoon.

A 3.1 magnitude earthquake rattled the Banning area at 3:24, and another measuring 3.2 hit at 3:33pm according to the USGS.

The evening quake was felt as far south as the Salton Sea, and as far west as Dana Point.

The quakes’ epicenter wasabout 3 miles north, northeast of Banning and 6 miles east, northeast of Beaumont.

No injuries were reported.
