Swarm Of Earthquakes Hits Central California

PASADENA -A swarm of small earthquakes rattled southern Inyo County today, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The first quake hit at 4:56 a.m. with a magnitude of 3.2, the second a minute later with the same strength and the third at 5:37 with a magnitude of 3.4, according to computer-generated messages.

All three temblors had their epicenter around 6 miles east of Coso Junction, which would place them under the U.S. Naval Weapons Center-China Lake.
