Sheriff’s Department Seeks Reserve Deputies

RIVERSIDE – The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a few good men and women to become reserve deputy sheriffs, and Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.

“I started out as a reserve police officer on a city police department and understand full well the value of volunteer service to our communities,” Sheriff Stanley Sniff said in a statement.

“Our department is facing budget constraints and we are encouraging men and women interested in serving as reserve deputies to join our ranks,” he said.

Reserve deputy sheriff assignments may include patrol operations, special programs, events, and other assignments, said Sgt. Dennis Gutierrez.

Those interested should call (888) JOIN RSD or visit the Web site, www.joinrsd.org, he said.
