“Walk for the Animals” Event to Benefit Local Shelters

Dog lovers from around the valley gathered in Palm Desert Saturday. They filled Civic Center Park to support Animal Samaritans, who were holding their 11th annual “Walk for the Animals.”

Hundred of people and their pets came to stamp out animal cruelty. Dozens of vendors also offered services, such as free neutering and microchipping.

Organizers from Animal Samaritans joined up with other local animal shelters. Tom Snyder from Animal Samaritans said it’s important that we work together, in order to find homes for as many homeless animals as possible.

News Channel 3’s Jeff Stahl and Emilie Voss helped MC the event.

Animal Samaritans had a goal of raising $20,000 from the event. For more information on how you can help or adopt, visit www.animalsamaritans.org.
