Firefighters Rescue Injured Hiker on Idyllwild Trail

Firefighters rescued an injured hiker Saturday from a remote location on the Ernie Maxwell Trail in Idyllwild’s Humber Park, according to a fire department spokeswoman.
The call about the stranded hiker came in about 1 p.m. today, said Melody Hendrickson of the fire department.
Firefighters rescued the hiker with the help of a basket, and the person was taken to an area hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries, Hendrickson said.
The gender and age of the hiker were not immediately available.
