Indian Canyon reopens after flooding concerns

Indian Canyon Drive is back open between Tramview Road andInterstate 10 after authorities closed it down Tuesday nightbecause ofpotential flooding.

Coachella Valley Water District officials say a percolation pond was over-filled in the area and some water dispersed into the open desert.

At first, police were concerned about a levee break that could send water spilling over the roadway.

The road was reopened shortly after 11:00 p.m.
