Prominent film critic will speak tonight at Rancho Mirage Public Library
Variety film critic Boyd van Hoeij will speak atthe Rancho Mirage Public Library tonight.
The free 7 p.m. talk is part of the “Hollywood Behind the Scenes”series put on by the library and the Palm Springs International Film Society.
Hoeij is traveling from Paris and will give a “European flavor to theproceedings,” library spokeswoman Susan Cook said. He is expected to discussmovie criticism and show film clips.
Hoeij freelances for Variety, European film news agency Cineuropa andDutch film site Filmkrant.
The `Hollywood Behind the Scenes” series offers highlights in moviehistory and goes inside the film industry with five nationally known moviecritics.
Seating is first come, first served.
