New affordable housing apartments to open in DHS Monday

An affordable housing apartment building inDesert Hot Springs will have its grand opening Monday, members of the CoachellaValley Housing Coalition announced today.

Brisas de Paz at 65921 Flora Ave. contains 62 units and includes aswimming pool and all the amenities expected at a market-rate building, LisaOlson of the housing coalition said.

Rent will range from $311 to $716 per month, according to Olson, whosaid the building has one-, two- and three-bedroom units.

The building was financed through the housing coalition by BonnevilleMortgage Co., California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the city of DesertHot Springs, Riverside County Economic Development Agency, Federal Home LoanBank of San Francisco’s Affordable Housing Program, National Equity Fund, RuralLISC, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development and Wells Fargo.
