White Party begins Friday in Palm Springs
White Party, the annual gay dance and musicfestival, will start in Palm Springs tomorrow.
Carly Rae Jepsen, Carmen Electra, Alexis Jordan and Ana Matronic of theScissor Sisters will headline events during White Party weekend, which runsthrough Sunday. The weekend starts with a pool party at noon Friday at theRenaissance hotel.
Electra and Jepsen — whose 2012 hit single “Call Me Maybe” put her onthe music map — will appear at the outdoor Sunday T-Dance across from thePalm Springs Convention Center, and Jordan and Ana Matronic will perform at theWhite Party’s signature Saturday night event, “Xtreme,” at the conventioncenter.
All other events will be held at the Renaissance hotel. Other performersinclude vocalists Meital Dohan and Kwanza Jones, Adriana DeMoura of “RealHousewives of Miami,” Albanian vocalist Bleona, singer and YouTube star LauraMichelle, contestants from drag star RuPaul’s “Drag Race” show, Swedish popduo Icona Pop and vocalist K. Rose.
The weekend will end with a fireworks display at the Renaissance.
White Party organizers added a second host hotel, the Palm SpringsHilton, after the Renaissance sold out.
Past White Party Palm Springs headliners have included Mary J. Blige,Jennifer Lopez, KE$HA and Lady Gaga.
