Woman shoots at husband, arrested

Riverside County Deputies deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 74-000 Block of Desert Aire Drive in North Shore Friday at about 12:30pm

Deputies say a 67-year-old female fired a gun at her husband, the round hit the wall next to him. The victim who was not hurt, later notified police of the assault.

When deputies attempted to contact the female, identified as Sonja Jenkins, she barricaded herself in the residence and repeatedly refused commands to surrender.

The nearby residences were evacuated and the Riverside County Sheriff’s S.W.A.T was activated.

Jenkins eventually surrendered at 8:09 P.M. and was detained by deputies.

Jenkins, was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
