Small fire at vacant dealership

The Palm Springs Fire Department says a small fire broke out at a long-vacant Palm Springs car dealership Saturday night.

Firefighters were called out just after 7:30pm to the old Mac Magruder Chevrolet dealership on S. Palm Canyon Drive.

The fire burned in a loft area on the second floor, Palm Springs Fire Battalion Chief Ron Beverly said.

Firefighters doused the flames in about 30 minutes.

No injuries were reported.

The utilities have been shut off at the dealership, and has been closed for the past 15 years.

A cause for the blaze was under investigation.
