Gas drops under $3 at local gas station

Gas is getting cheaper in Riverside County. Prices at one gas station in Cathedral City dropped under $3 Wednesday.

News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 first heard from a viewer that the Arco am/pm at 67625 E Palm Canyon Drive was selling unleaded gas at $2.99 per gallon.

Our stations spoke with the owner of the gas station and he confirmed the price. Most of the lowest-priced gas stations around the Coachella Valley are still at $3.05 to $3.09 per gallon, according to gasbuddy.

Either way, prices close to $3 a gallon are a welcome relief after paying $4 per gallon and higher throughout most of the year.
