A 12-year-old boy was arrested after phoning in a fake bomb threat at Walmart in Yucca Valley Tuesday afternoon while he was riding home on a school bus.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the Yucca Valley Walmart, located at 58501 Twentynine Palms Highway, received a phone call around 2:20 p.m. from someone threatening to ‘blow up’ the store.

On Wednesday, deputies received information which led them to a 12-year-old who attends La Contenta Middle School. During the investigation, deputies found the phone the call was made from while the boy was riding the school bus home.

Deputies said he was arrested for reporting a false bomb threat and released to his parents.
