Palm Desert woman arrested on charges connected to vehicle thefts
Forged checks and stolen property were among the items discovered at the home of a Palm Desert woman who was arrested Thursday by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Lisa Marie Cano, 35, of Palm Desert, was arrested for suspicion of possession of stolen property, identity theft, possession of forged or fictitious checks, fraud and a felony out-of-state warrant, said Sgt. Mike Bianco of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Cano was being investigated in connection with a series of Palm Desert vehicle burglaries beginning in June, Bianco said. The investigation led to a search warrant issued for a home in the 75300 block of Kelsey Circle in Palm Desert.
Police found forged and fictitious checks at the home, along with other stolen property such as documents and personal identifying information belonging to June’s vehicle burglary victims, Bianco said. Cano was booked at the Riverside County jail in Indio.
