Beaumont City Councilman passes away
The Beaumont community is mourning the passing of Councilman Jeffery Fox. Fox’ passing was announced Tuesday afternoon by Beaumont City Councilman Mark Orozco.
There weren’t a lot of details immediately available, but Orozco released the following statement:
“Members of the Beaumont community along with my family are deeply saddened and surprised to hear of the passing of the honorable Jeffery Fox. On behalf of the citizens of Beaumont, which I am priveleged to represent, and my own family, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Councilman Fox.
News Channel 3 and CBS Local 2 will deliver more information about Fox’s death as soon as it’s available.
According to the City of Beaumont’s website, Councilman Jeff Fox has loved his hometown since he was a boy and pedaled to the fire station at the sound of an alarm. It’s been a lifelong dedication to Beaumont.
For a decade, Fox was president of the Beaumont Youth Baseball Association. Like many others who are devoted to their community, Fox served as a planning commissioner before his election to the City Council in 2000. Fox has been re-elected twice, according to his city biography.
“Public service makes it possible to set visionary goals and assure the city’s success,” Fox said. “In Beaumont, we believe in a forward-thinking approach.”
