Desert Hot Springs DUI Saturation Patrol nets two arrests
Thanks to special funding for extra police officers, the City of Desert Hot Springs is combating drunk driving with it’s DUI Saturation Patrol.
The city’s most recent patrol on Tuesday resulted in one DUI arrest, one narcotics related arrest, three citations and six vehicle enforcement stops.
According to Law Enforcement, impaired drivers who are caught can expect jail time, fines, fees, DUI classes and could see out of pocket expenses over ten-thousand dollars.
Desert Hot Springs Police will conduct another DUI Saturation Patrol and DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint in the next few weeks. Part of the city’s ongoing commitment to lowering deaths and injuries due to drunk driving.
The DUI Saturation Patrol is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Police remind everyone to ‘report a Drunk Driver – Call 9-1-1’.
