RV fire in Palm Springs affects traffic on Gene Autry overpass
Authorities were called to an RV fire in Palm Springs on Gene Autry Trail near I-10 Wednesday morning. Officers blocked northbound and southbound traffic on the I-10 overpass while firefighters doused the flames.
The freeway was still open to traffic.
The California Highway Patrol reported the fire at about 9 a.m. Officers said there was a lot of black smoke stemming from the vehicle fire.
Drivers were asked to avoid the Gene Autry Trail I-10 overpass Wednesday morning while crews cleared the scene. There was no immediate word on the cause of the RV fire.
