Stolen/Lost cell phones a problem for festival-goers
Nearly 200 thousand fans made it through the gates of the polo grounds these last two weeks and now another 75 thousand are coming. If you are one of them, here’s some wise words of advice to keep your cellular device.
“If you carry it around in your back pocket, if you put it in your backpack, you are just making yourself vulnerable to those type of people.” Sgt. Dan Marshall said.
“Be aware of all your surroundings, be careful out there, now a days are phones are a life style, our life lines.” Omar Ruiz of Verizon Wireless added.
Dylan Huber of La Quinta High School was one of those that had it stolen and he went on to say, “After it happened to us, we found about 15 other people to so they were probably just looking for anyone who looked vulnerable, me and the group I was with we were just walking into one of the concerts, it was super crowded, everyone was pushing up against one another and after a few minutes we all checked out pockets and realized none of us had our phones with us, probably pick pocketed.”
“It was an expense they didn’t foresee, itwas basically the same story, walking through the crowd and their phone went missing. A couple of customers had them in large bags with zippers, and still they were coming out missing.” Ruiz went on to say.
So don’t let that be you this weekend, let the good country tunes continue your groove, by following these simple rules.
“Encourage people notin the backpack, in the front pocket, rubberized cover, or put a rubber band around it like my dad used to do when he would carry cash, he would have it always wrapped in a rubber band so nobody could slip it out of his pocket.”
