Thousands coming out this weekend for 10th anniversary of Stagecoach
For Deann Cochran, she said kicking back with a little Country music has been something she and her family have been looking forward to every spring.
“The first time I came out here, both my daughters were in middle school and elementary,” Cochran said. “We came out when kids are free, and we saw Taylor Swift. She was one of the opening bands at 1 p.m. It was one of the most memorable things, and a great family experience. Both my daughters have been coming ever since.”
For about a decade, the Cochrans have joined thousands of people making their way to Stagecoach, a weekend several look forward to every year, where Southern California meets Country music.
The United States of America is the only country that has country music festivals, and I believe this is the biggest Country-Western music festival in the United States,” Sgt. Dan Marshall with Indio Police said.
“We’ve been counting down to this. I bought my ticket right after I got back from Stagecoach last year, so it’s been a year countdown for me,” Mallory Stemme said. “This is like the highlight of my entire year.”
Marshall said 75,000 people are expected to attend Stagecoach this year.
