Traffic congested on I-10 as ‘Stagecoachers’ arrive

Tens of thousands of visitors are expected this weekend in the Coachella Valley for the 2016 Stagecoach Country Music Festival. Traffic delays are already being reported on eastbound I-10 between Cook Street and Washington Street.

Authorities listed road closures and alternate routes earlier in the week for locals to prepare for the rush.

If you absolutely must take eastbound I-10 as the crowds arrive, you should expect delays throughout Friday afternoon. The traffic rush on the interstate should calm down for a couple of days as the festival gets underway, and then will ramp back up Sunday evening and Monday morning as visitors pack up and head back home.
