Power knocked out at KESQ & CBS Local 2 studio

UPDATE: Power was restored at around 8:30 p.m.

ORIGINAL STORY: About 340 customers in Thousand Palms are without power as of 7:45 p.m. including the KESQ & CBS Local 2 news station.

Our building is running off a backup generator at this time. Programming doesn’t appear to be impacted.

Gas stations on the corner of Monterey Ave. and Varner Rd. are also without power.

Imperial Irrigation Distinct is sending an engineer to see what happened and get the power back on.
