Goldenvoice hosts job fair
The Coachella Valley Music Festival and Stagecoach are just two months away. Goldenvoice hosted a job fair at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio on Friday.
The job fair lasted from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Interviews were held on a first come, first serve basis.
“It’s a great festival. I’ve worked it three years in the past,” one applicant said.
Goldenvoice is expected to hire more than a thousand applicants for a number of different positions. Some applicants I spoke to applied for a stagehand position, plumber, credentials, and box office, to name a few. Jobs pay up to 25 dollars an hour.
While some are hoping to enjoy musical performances, others are hoping to use the job experience as a stepping stone for long-term careers.
“You’re getting experience. If I work for Goldenvoice, that’s a nice thing to have on my resume. They’re a very large corporation in the entertainment industry,” said Cindy Reed from Oregon.
Applicants say they’re looking forward to April.
“Hopefully I can have a fun time working and make some money and get to see the show too,” said another applicant.
The job fair wrapped up around 3 p.m. Friday afternoon. Applicants are expected to hear back from employers in about a week.
