Crews opening some I-10 Jefferson ramps today
UPDATE: Freeway was reopened as of 5:45 a.m. and traffic was clearing.

Motorists were being detoured off Interstate 10 early Thursday morning as construction crews worked to open freeway on and off ramps at Jefferson Street in Indio.
Long traffic delays and back up were reported on Interstate 10 westbound, traffic backed up all the way east past Monroe Street.
The freeway’s westbound lanes were shut down at the Jefferson Interchange, and traffic was detouring using the new westbound exit. Traffic was being detoured to Varner Road, then back onto the freeway at Washington Street.
Eastbound freeway lanes were open and without delay.
Motorists coming from Indio Boulevard and Jefferson Street in La Quinta could detour to Country Club Drive to save time and avoid the freeway traffic back up.
Interstate traffic was facing delays because of the road work.
Crews also plan to open the new westbound freeway loop at the Jefferson Interchange today.
Motorists can expect delays at the bridge Thursday morning as crews work there.
