Man arrested for cell phone theft during Coachella Fest detained by ICE
A Los Angeles man accused of stealing cell phones from attendees of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has been detained by immigration officials.
The lawyer of 27 year old Marco Leon says Leon was released from county jail released on $10,000 bail on May 7th.

Leon was slated for a felony settlement conference Wednesday, but was not present because he’s in federal custody, according to his attorney.
Riverside Superior Court Judge Harold W. Hopp issued a bench warrant this Wednesday morning for Leon, who is scheduled to be arraigned in June.
Leon allegedly had more than 100 stolen cell phones in his possession, is charged with one count of receiving stolen property and seven counts of misdemeanor grand theft.
The 2017 festival held last month saw 277 people arrested or cited across both festival weekends.
The 277 mark exceeded last year’s total of 270, though the 2017 festival crowd was also larger than previous years due to the Indio City Council’s approval of an attendance cap increase from 99,000 to 125,000 at the Empire Polo Grounds.
