Firefighters contain a fire at a Palm Desert recycling center
A fire at a recycling center in Palm Desert was contained after nearly three hours.
Crews responded to the fire on 41575 Eclectic Street shortly before 3:30 p.m.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found a 25 feet x 25 feet pile of recyclables on fire. After two hours the pile grew to approximately 50 feet x 100 feet wide and 25 feet tall.

According to Cal Fire, the pile was made up of mostly cardboard recycling materials.
The fire was contained at 6:46 pm, but crews remained on scene for several hours for overhaul.
