Coachella Valley Cemetery District swears-in new board member

The Coachella Valley Cemetery District, which was the subject of a grand jury report more than a year ago, has a new board member.

Judy Vossler was sworn-in ahead of Tuesday morning’s board meeting at the cemetery in Coachella.

Vossler was appointed by Riverside County Supervisor Manuel Perez and has a long history in the Coachella Valley with Landmark Golf and the Palm Springs Convention and Visitors Bureau.

She joins a board that’s recently expanded and trying to rectify issues that were brought forward in last year’s grand jury findings.

“Nothing is insurmountable. We have a very strong board, knowledgable people, the staff is great, We’ll work through the issues one by one,” Vossler said.

News Channel 3 was the subject of an agenda item at Tuesday’s meeting. We have been looking into changes at the district after that grand jury report last year. I-Team Investigator John White will go in-depth on the issue, watch the special report at 6 p.m. on May 22.
