Coroner identifies two killed in Coachella collision
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office released the identity of a man and woman killed in Coachella Friday evening.
75-year-old Jose Prieto and 74-year-old Sofia Prieto of Coachella collided with another vehicle at Grapefruit and Mitchell along Highway 111.

According to the Coroner’s Office, Jose Prieto was pronounced dead at the scene, and Sofia Prieto died at a nearby hospital.
According to the most recent update from Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies, the third victim, who was in a different car, was suffering from major injuries and was still in critical conditions.
