Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival names Queen and Court
INDIO, Calif. - The Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival has named Queen Scheherazade and her Court for the 2020 Fair.
The coronation ended a six-week process to name the Queen and her Court. Contestants from across the County competed and were then narrowed down to a final twelve.
Contestants were judged in three question and answer rounds to receive the crowns of Queen Scheherazade, Princess Dunyazade and Princess Jasmine. In addition to the honor of being goodwill ambassadors for the Fair, winners also receive a scholarship. Queen Scheherazade receives $3500 while the others receive $2000.
Kayley Serrano was crowned as Queen Scheherazade, Alexandria Gooray was crowned as Princess Dunyazade and Analise Ortega was crowned Princess Jasmine.
Serrano is a junior at California State University San Bernardino and is studying Communication - Mass Media. She is an alumni of La Quinta High School. Serrano also recently appeared on Eye on the Desert with her band the Sol Suns in a performance that can be seen here.
Gooray is a senior at Centennial High School in Corona and captain of her school's swim team. She is busy with almost 1000 hours of community service and being a national competitor for Future Business Leaders of America.
Ortega is a senior at Shadow Hills High School, her school’s class president and captain of the varsity soccer team.
The Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival runs from February 14th to the 23rd.
