RSO deputies handing out compliance pamphlets for educational purposes

A deputy told News Channel 3's Karen Devine that these are "educational pamphlets."
One local resident posted a picture of the pamphlet she got while going out to walk her dog. Another resident said they saw deputies handing out pamphlets at a local trailhead.
As part of efforts to "flatten the curve" of coronavirus, Riverside County health officials issued an emergency order on April 4, requiring everyone to wear a face-covering when leaving home.

Face coverings can be bandanas, scarves, neck gaiters or other clothing that does not have visible holes.
Last week, Sheriff Chad Bianco said will not be stopping vehicles or people on the street or handing out tickets for not wearing a face covering. However, he did ask for residents to voluntarily comply with the orders for the safety of everyone.
Some stores are requiring workers and customers wear masks before being allowed to enter the store.
On Monday, Palm Springs issued a new order that mandates require essential businesses to comply with Riverside County's order.
As part of Palm Springs' order, all businesses will be required to post signage reinforcing the requirement to residents before they enter.

As of Tuesday, April 14, there are 1,961 coronavirus cases, 50 deaths, and 376 patients recovered in Riverside County.
