Palm Springs hotel tax revenue seeing a drop, city working to fix this

Over the past few years, Palm Springs's Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) has been seeing a drop. This year's summer months are also seeing a steady decline.

TOT, also known as "Bed Tax," is a tax of 12% of the rent charged to transient guests in hotels/motels.

This could be a problem for city funds as tourism is one of its top economic drivers.
