More heat but less humidity

Humidity will linger into today, but gradually dry out as we head into the rest of the week.

That ridge of high pressure expands a bit, helping to reduce the humidity and dew points, but increase our temperatures through midweek.

Heat is increasing so much so that an Excessive Heat Warning goes into effect today at Noon, lasting until 8 p.m. tomorrow.

An Air Quality Alert also remains in effect until Noon today thanks to the possibility of windblown dust and sand.

Highs will edge toward the 115 mark through the middle of the week, then cool back to near seasonal norms by the weekend.
