A First Alert Weather Alert has been issued through Sunday afternoon due to gusty winds that have strengthened overnight.

A Wind Advisory will remain in effect for the Coachella Valley through 7 PM Sunday. Winds will be out of the Northwest and could easily be in the range of 20 mph-30 mph. Gusts upwards of 50 mph will also be possible.

A High Wind Warning is in effect until noon Sunday to the west of the Coachella Valley and through the San Gorgonio Pass. Winds could be up to 65 mph in wind prone spots. This could also create visibility issues, especially where snow is expected in the mountains.

Scattered rain drifted onto the valley floor overnight but accumulation was minimal. Rainfall will remain possible, namely for areas near the San Gorgonio Pass and the High Desert, through this afternoon.

A First Alert Weather Alert will be in effect through Sunday afternoon. Lighter winds and cold conditions are expected Sunday night. Temperatures will be noticeably cooler for the start of next week. High temperatures will be in the mid to low 60s for next week.
