Man Arrested Accused Of Carjacking Outside A Walgreens Store

CATHEDRAL CITY – Cathedral City Police have arrested a man accused of carjacking a vehicle outside a Walgreens store Fridaynight.

It happened just before 10:30 p.m.at the Walgreens on the 33900 block of Date Palm Drive.

Police say Brandon Tripp, 29, of Indio walked up to a vehicle and ordered the driver to get out.

When the driver refused,Tripp allegedlypunched the driver in the face.

Once the driver and passengerfled,Tripp took off in the vehicle.

Police then spotted Tripp fighting with a store clerk outside a 7-Eleven parking lot on Ramon Road near Crossley Road.

No one was seriously hurt.

Tripp is being held at the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
