Roads Reopen After Dust Storm

PALM SPRINGS – Gene Autry Trail and Vista Chino are both back open today after a powerful wind storm shut both streets down Tuesday.

The wind gusts, which hit 62 mph at Palm Springs International Airport, blew sand and debris all over the wash areas of Gene Autry and Vista Chino, making the roads impassable. Crews put up barricades, and blocked the roads until the wind subsided and the crews could clear the roads.
