Scientists Prepare For ‘Franken-Storm’

PASADENA -Scientists at Cl-Tech are working on a storm preparedness plan similar to the earthquake drill the “great California shakeout”

In this case– it’s a “Fanken-Sorm” that would create havoc on the Southland.

In the scenario– a storm system would hit southern California with hurricane-force winds — and last for 3 weeks.

Some areas would see as much as 8 feet of rain in that time.

The scientists are trying to predict the economic damage — as well as the impact on the environment, transportation, and the electrical grid.

The plan should be completed by the summer — and used in a statewide drill next year.
