Man Who Murdered Runaway Girl Sentenced To Life In Prison
A man who beat, slashed and fatally stabbed a 16-year- old runaway girl whom he and an associate used for sex was sentenced today to 29 years to life in state prison.
Jose Alfredo Solorza was convicted April 2 of first-degree murder and torture for killing Kayla Lorrain Wood.
Solorza’s co-defendant, Roman Gabriel Aldana, 22, was convicted of the same charges by a separate jury, which recommended Wednesday that he be executed for the crime.
Solorza was not eligible for the death penalty because he was a minor at the time he was charged.
