Skydiver’s Remains Found In Perris Field

A farm worker plowing a field in Perris today found the remains of a skydiver, a sheriff’s sergeant said.

Although the identity of the remains has not been confirmed, they are likely those of 50-year-old Vladimir Frolov, a Russian tourist who has been missing since he jumped from a plane over Perris in September, he said.

“The Perris Police Department only has one report of an outstanding Perris skydiver,” Sgt. Joseph Borja told City News Service.

The remains were found about 9 a.m. in a field west of Murrieta Road and north of Watson Road, about a mile east of the Perris Valley Airport.

Frolov was reported missing Sept. 30, when an acquaintance called Perris Valley Skydiving after Frolov failed to show up for a meeting, and an employee noticed his car was still in the parking lot.

Search-and-rescue crews in the air and on the ground were unable to find him for after searching for several days.

Frolov, who had jumped out of a plane without a partner Sept. 26, had been staying at a motel in Canyon Lake and was traveling alone.
