Carwash Held For Mother Killed In Car Crash
Hundreds of people came out on Sunday to help the family of a mother killed in a car crash in Indio earlier this month.
Support for 34-year-old Linda Franco’s family kept rolling in.
She died on Saint Patrick’s Day after crashing into a traffic light.
The family doesn’t have enough money to bury her yet, so Franco’s sister, Ruby Lerma, is raising money for the funeral.
“I just know she’s just happy to know how many friends and family love her as well as me,” said Lerma.
Andrea Chavez, 36, also died in the crash.
Officers ruled their deaths as homicides.
Indio police arrested Thadeus Holland, 20, Jose Valencia, 18, and two other suspects in connection.
They’re accused of chasing down the women before the crash.
“I’m shocked. the last person, people, i would expect for that to happen to was my aunt and dre, Andrea,” said Eloy Cavazos, Franco’s nephew.
Lerma and her parents are helping raise Franco’s six children.
Her daughters remember her as a great mother, who had a lot of friends and family — many of whom showed up to help.
“I makes us feel better that all these people are helping us. Friends, family, people we don’t even know, it feels good,” said Angelica Santillanes, 15, Franco’s daughter.
Meanwhile, police are still looking for 17-year-old Alfonso Verduzco, of Indio.
He’s considered armed and dangerous.
Call police if you’ve seen him.
