Injured Hiker Rescued From Trail Above Palm Springs Art Museum
Palm Springs rescue crews brought an injured hiker down off a Mt. San Jacinto trail on Thursday after she suffered heat stroke, fell and hit her head.
A police spokesperson told News Channel 3 the hiker’s husband called authorities to report his wife had fallen and hit her head around 12:40 p.m. along a trail behind the Palm Springs Art Museum.
Palm Springs Mounted Patrol was called in to help get the woman to safety. Paramedics eventually brought the woman down on a stretcher.
She was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center to be treated for dehydration.
At 1 p.m., the First Alert Weather Center reported a temperature of 98 degrees.
