Bob Hope’s iconic Palm Springs home is “For Sale”
It is now official. The iconic home of Bob and Dolores Hope that sits atop the hills overlooking Palm Springs now has a For Sale sign posted on the front lawn.
It was announced last week, that the John Lautner designed property went up for sale, with an asking price of $50-million dollars.
Perched in the private neighborhood of Southridge, the home is 23,366-square-foot and was designed to resemble a volcano. The modernist structure is built of concrete and glass, with an undulating copper roof that rises to an open semi-circle at its center.
The home boasts six bedrooms and 12 bathrooms and was used primarily as a second residence for the Hope family. The outdoor space includes a pool, pond, tennis court and outdoor fireplace.
Local Windemere realtors Patrick Jordan and Stewart Smith share the listing with Ann Eysenring, of Partner’s trust, in Beverly Hills. Two other desert Hope homes went on the market last year. The home on El Alonde sold for 725,000 dollars says Jordan, the other home located on Buena Vista Street has been put on hold.
