Man parks car on Palm Desert sidewalk, gets arrested for DUI
An Orange County man, arrested on suspicion ondrunken driving after veering onto a sidewalk in Palm Desert, was behind barstoday.
John Robert Salmon, 45, of Costa Mesa, was arrested near Gerald Fordand Technology drives about 6:55 p.m. Monday, sheriff’s Sgt. Patrick Carrollsaid.
Salmon turned into a parking lot, managed to jump a curb, and stopped on a sidewalk. Why he stopped the car on the sidewalk is not exactly clear.
“The vehicle stopped and came to rest just short of hitting abuilding,” Carroll said.
Salmon booked at the jail in Indio in lieu of $2,500 bail.
