Rancho Mirage residents warned of security scam

The city of Rancho Mirage is warning residents of people posing as city employees to get into other people’s homes.

The city’s police department sent out a release Thursday saying scammers are presenting homeowners with City of Rancho Mirage employee business cards, then asking to enter homes to conduct a water pressure tests.

That is not legit.

Police say always ask for photo identification before allowing anyone in to your home.

And if you suspect a person is not who they say they are, call the Rancho Mirage Police department immediately at 760-836-1600.
