Golfers hit the links to raise money for Safehouse of the Desert

It was a beautiful day on the golf course Friday as dozens of golfers swung away at Indian Wells Country Club to raise money for Safehouse of the Desert.

Safehouse recently launched an app called “What’s Up Safehouse” that provides youth and young adults with 24-7 counseling.

“Being able to talk to them anonymously, that’s really big for them as well. And we were actually able to help a human trafficking victim through that service,” said Maribel Pimentel with Safehouse of the Desert.

The Indian Wells Chamber of Commerce chose Safehouse of the Desert as the beneficiary of their third annual charity golf tournament because of the services they provide to at-risk teens in the Valley.
