The Living Desert to hold fundraising Zoobilee gala

More than 450 people are expected to attend The Living Desert’s largest fundraiser of the year on Saturday, March 4. The 24th annual Zoobilee Gala celebrates the Year of the Cheetah with up-close cheetah encounters, as well as interactions with other animals.

A cocktail reception starts at 5:00 p.m. at the zoo in Palm Desert, followed by entertainment, dinner and a live auction, which includes bidding rights to name a recently born male jaguar cub.

The program, emceed by Brooke Beare, CBS Local 2 news anchor, raises funds to support the care and well-being of animals as well as the education and conservation programs the zoo and gardens provide.

“Proceeds from the Zoobilee Gala support The Living Desert’s mission of desert conservation through preservation, education and appreciation, and help provide programming such as school field trip scholarships, community outreach and events, as well as exhibit and infrastructure improvements,” says Kristy Kneiding of Cord Media.
