People try to beat the heat during hot temps across Coachella Valley

Swelteringly hot temperatures have Coachella Valley residents looking for relief. Temperatures hit 110 degrees in Palm Springs on Tuesday afternoon.

The Fountain of Life in Cathedral City was a very popular destination for people looking to cool off.

Plenty of other people elected to escape into air conditioned areas such as movie theaters during the hottest part of the day.

Some businesses one might think would cash in during triple-digit temperatures still struggled as snow birds begin for fly the coup out of the Coachella Valley.

“I believe it’s a little too hot for the locals to come out. That’s the only reason, but once the sun goes down we should have a good night,” said Judith Garcia, an employee at Great Shakes in Palm Springs.

Some local residents said these last couple days are a good preview of actual summer temperatures to come.
