Law Enforcement competes in BBQ at COPSWEST Conference

The smell of BBQ lured hundreds of law enforcement officers in downtown Palm Springs to load up a plate of chicken, tri-tip and ribs at the annual COPSWEST conference.

Haley Clawson and Karen Devine were guest judges. 8 teams from different cities and divisions of law enforcement smoked, tenderized and used their own special ingredients to compete for two titles.

WINNERS:

People’s choice award went, for the third year in a row, to Sacramento Sheriff’s

Palm Springs Police got second.

Fontana and Redlands Police Departments were judges’ favorites.

Area Vons and Albertsons donated the meat.

Each plate was $10, all the proceeds will go to charity of choice of each team that participated in the event.
